Srinagar, August 26, 2018 (KNO) : Condemning the policy of suppression and repression against the parents and other kith and kins of the youth engaged in the armed struggle against the Indian occupation, All Parties Hurriyat Conference in a statement termed it a sheer cowardice.

Fighting with the innocent and unarmed civilians is not a bravery, said the statement. Citing the nocturnal raids on the house of Nazir Ahmad Malik of Arwani Shopian by the Indian occupation forces and vandalizing the residential house, window panes, locomotion, and all other valuable property, the Hurriyat said that these barbaric actions can’t, in anyway, deter the local population from vehemently supporting the ongoing freedom movement, instead the youth get forced to the wall by such oppressive actions.

Expressing its anguish on the repressive military actions against the innocent people, Hurriyat said that the Indian occupation forces have failed on all fronts to suppress the people’s sentiments with the movement for right to self-Determination during the past 71 years especially since 1989.

On the direction of Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat chief organizer and secretary public relations Bilal Ahmad Sidiqui and Molvi Bashir Irfani visited the residence of Shaheed Umar Qayoum on his 8th anniversary at Soura, Srinagar and conveyed a message from Hurriyat chairman in which he saluted the patience and steadfastness of the parents of martyr Umar Qayoum and paid rich tributes to the martyr. It is pertinent to mention here that Umar Qayoum was a 13 year old student , who was martyred by the Indian occupation forces in 2010. Both the leaders prayed for the eternal peace of the martyr, said Hurriyat.
